In the previous blog we saw that the Lord will send out messengers to gather His people from all over the world and bring them back to the land. Earlier we saw that the Israelites who flee the land before the great tribulation will be kept in the wilderness of Edom.
We have also seen that the faithful remnant who flee through the cleft Mount of Olives at the second coming of Christ, go to the desert. There is a place prepared by God and where they are cared for. And also the Israelites who are gathered together by the 144,000 will first be gathered outside the land, in the wilderness.
Ezekiel 20
34 I will bring you out from the nations, and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered, with a steadfast hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.
35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations (…)
God will gather Israel from the nations among whom they are scattered and bring them into the wilderness outside the land.
35 …and there I will come with you in judgment, face to face.
36 As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I also enter into judgment with you, says the Lord GOD.
37 I will pass you under the rod of a shepherd, and bring you into the bond of the covenant.
38 And I will purify you from those who rebel and those who transgress against Me. From the land where they sojourn I will bring them out, but they shall not come into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am YAHWEH.
the people are being judged
They will see the Lord, He will appear to them there, face to face. God will judge His people in the desert, as he did after the exodus from Egypt. All Israelites were brought out of Egypt, but only believers entered the promised land. This is how it will be in the future. God will gather many Israelites from the nations, but some of them will not enter the land of Israel. They will fall in the wilderness, just as in the days of Israel in the wilderness of Egypt.
