why God is the living God

We find the expression, the living God, several dozen times in Scripture. God is called the living God, because He Himself lives and is incorruptible. This is in contrast to the dead and dumb idols, which do not live and speak (Jer.10:10; Dan.6:27). But He is also the living God, because He is the Giver of life (Mark 12:27; Acts 17:25). God is the source of all life.

no more death
The living God is also the One who will completely destroy death. Death will be put out of action and life will triumph. God abolishes death by giving life to all, imperishable life. Only then will the last enemy, death, be destroyed (1 Cor.15:26). God is the origin and destination of all life. Therefore He is the living God. When all have been made alive, the living God will be all in all (1 Cor.15:28)

1 Timothy 6
13 I commend you before God, who gives life to all things (…)

2 Timothy 1
10 (…) Christ Jesus, who abolishes death and brings life and incorruption to light through the gospel.

imperishable life
The gospel is the message that death will be abolished and will be no more. It is the good news that God brings to light through His Son, Christ Jesus, life and incorruption. As long as there are creatures of the living God in death, death has not yet been abolished. Even if it only concerns one of His creatures. The living God is the Savior of all people (1 Tim.4:10) and gives life to all (1 Cor.15:22)!
