A well-known song in Christian Netherlands is: I can do all things, followed by: in Him who gives me strength (Revival songs 122). This phrase seems to be taken one by one from Philippians 4:13 of the NKJV translation. The Statenvertaling deviates slightly from this, but not much.

In Dutch the word vermag (>being able) comes from the word power, which means: being able to do something. The song suggests that we can do anything in Him who gives us strength. The song does not have more lyrics than repeating this sentence, so it is difficult to find out what the creator of the song came up with when he composed it. But let us read it into the apostle Paul’s argument and see what precedes it and what it literally says.
Philippians 4
10 And I greatly rejoiced in the Lord, that at last you had flourished in your affection towards me, which you were well disposed to do, but you had no opportunity.
11 Not that I say this because I have need, for I learned to be content in the circumstances in which I am.
12 I know what it is to be humbled, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have been introduced in every respect and in everything, both in being full and in being hungry, both in having plenty and in wanting.
13 In all things I am strong in Christ, who strengthens me.
satisfied in everything
Paul is glad that the Philippians supported him (:15-16). Although he says he has no defect. He had experienced everything: he had struggled with scarcity, but also with abundance, with hunger and with having enough to eat. He knew all the circumstances. In other places he speaks of: shipwreck, beatings, stoning, dangers, cold, oppression, distress, captivity, etc. (2 Cor.6:4-5; 11:24-27).
Paul was content with what he had, whether it was much or little, difficult or easy. About that he says: I am strong in all things, in Him who gives me strength, Christ. So He does not say that He is capable of everything, but that He is strong in, and under all circumstances, in Him. Paul was powerful in every situation and adapted to the circumstances. His Lord always took care of him.
